Exploring the Delights of Il Grammofono Ristorante in Lucca

What sets Il Grammofono apart is their monthly rotation of the menu, aligning it with the seasonality of ingredients. This unique approach offers a delightful journey through diverse global flavors, all creatively curated under one roof. Having visited in September, I am eager to share the delectable treats I had the pleasure of tasting.

Il Bao: The gastronomic adventure began with “Il Bao”. A soft Chinese steamed bun stuffed with panko mushrooms drizzled with a sweet and sour bell pepper sauce. The softness of the bun and the crunchy mushrooms create a perfect texture combination for the palate, complementing the sweet and sour flavors of the sauce.

Crunchy Pork Belly: For my main course, I enjoyed my main reason for visiting this restaurant, the Crispy Pork Belly. This dish featured succulent slices of crispy pork belly glazed with cinnamon and sriracha sauce. The play of spice and sweetness of the glaze was delicious. Served with tender broccoli and jasmine rice.

Argentinian Beef Entrecote: This dish consists of a tender cut of meat with Taleggio cheese, served with patatas bravas. The meat was cooked to perfection, offering a succulent and tasty experience with its combination of flavors.

Avocado Panna Cotta: This dessert consisted of an innovative avocado panna cotta, elegantly garnished with a mango salsa and caramelized cashews. The creamy panna cotta had a subtle avocado essence that was perfectly complemented by the sweet mango salsa and the crunchiness of the cashews. It was a delicious culmination of our culinary adventure.

Barbera d’Alba: Throughout the meal, I paired it with one of my favorite Italian wines, the Barbera d’Alba, which proved to be an ideal companion. It harmonized with the diverse flavors of the selected dishes, elevating the dining experience.
